This program works if you keep coming back and trying… [The program] is so supportive and non-judgmental here. I was lying to myself and telling myself I couldn't do it. The truth is I can and you can too"

About the Study
Affect Therapeutics is piloting a study of its digital treatment for methamphetamine use disorder. The study utilizes the latest science combining rewards, a digital app for habit formation, group therapy, and medication to build a treatment that actually works to treat methamphetamine symptoms at its roots.
The study is an 8 week long free online treatment program. You receive treatment through a smartphone app so that we can meet you exactly where you are.
Affect Therapeutics was founded by Jeff DeFlavio, MD, a specialist in addiction recovery. Dr. DeFlavio also founded Groups Recover Together, a nationwide set of clinics for opioid treatment. We are partnering with a professor of addiction psychiatry at UCLA to conduct this study and our advisors include Tom McLellan, the most published researcher in addiction psychology.
How It Works:
Join a community of individuals recovering from methamphetamine and work together with a recovery coach to create your own path to recovery.
Learn from Affect’s digital curriculum that teaches you new habits and mindsets through its daily goals
Receive cash rewards for attending sessions and completing your goals. You can earn ~$688 throughout the program.
Work with a care team of recovery coaches, peer counselors, and doctors that support you through every step of the way.
"I still use the goals to this day. They keep me focused. They keep me positive... I [also] didn't expect that the staff would care so much. I had a peer counselor that would check in on me. They understood me and made sure I was safe in the midst of all my experiences."
