Mental Health Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re new to online therapy or psychiatry, we know you might have questions — and we’re ready with clear answers.

General Program Questions

  • All of our prescribers are licensed medical professionals, including psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners with specialized training in mental health care. They’re experienced in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD.

  • You’ll meet with your prescriber through secure video calls, usually starting with a longer initial evaluation (about 60 minutes). After that, you’ll have shorter follow-up visits as needed to monitor how you’re doing and adjust medications if necessary.

  • Absolutely. In fact, research shows that therapy and medication together are often more effective than either one alone. Our program is designed to integrate both—so you’ll have access to licensed therapists as well as prescribers, all working as a team to support your progress.

  • Your prescriber will talk with you about your symptoms, history, and treatment goals to help decide if medication could be helpful. There’s no pressure—some people benefit from medications, others may not need them, and we always work with you to find the best path forward.

  • Yes—your privacy and confidentiality are extremely important to us. All appointments are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant video calls, and your health information is protected using industry-standard encryption. We never share your data without your explicit permission.

  • In most states, initial appointments are available within two business days.
